About International Giraffe chess federation (IGCF)

The International Giraffe Chess Federation (IGCF) is a registered Non-Profit Organization (NGO) working for the promotion of Giraffe Chess. It is recognized as the world governing body for Giraffe Chess.

Giraffe Chess is a unique, draw-less and result-oriented 68-square board game, invented in 2012 by Indian school children Nadamala Bhagya Shree and Nadamala Sai Kiran Reddy. In this game, the Giraffe moves by jumping 4 squares in a long L-shape (3+1 or 1+3 squares). Unlike traditional formats, in Giraffe Chess, checkmate and stalemate are also wins, and crowning results in a win as well. (For detailed gameplay, please refer to the Rules page).

As part of its mission, IGCF organizes Giraffe Chess tournaments around the world in three formats:

  1. Title Tournaments

  2. Single and Doubles Tournaments

  3. Hattrick League

Supporters and donors of IGCF also receive the benefit of Income Tax Section 80G exemption.
